Important Experience Rules
- Experience is counted from the date of obtaining the essential qualification (date of result publication)
- For Mining discipline, experience is counted from the date of obtaining the Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering
- Experience must be in a relevant field – Mining / Metal / Manufacturing industry or any other industry with relevant job responsibilities
- For PSU/Govt. candidates: Must have completed at least 2 years in the immediate below scale of pay
- For Private sector candidates: Organization must have a turnover of ₹250 Crores or more; salary proof required (Pay Slip, Form-16, Bank Statement)
- Internal HCL candidates: Must have completed at least 1 year in the next below scale – no age limit applies

Selection Process – Personal Interview
Unlike many PSU recruitments that involve written tests, HCL's selection is based entirely on Personal Interview (PI) with 100% weightage.
How Shortlisting Works
- Candidates are called for PI in the ratio of 1:5 (5 candidates per vacancy)
- For single vacancy posts, 10 candidates are shortlisted
- If applications exceed the zone of consideration, shortlisting is done using a merit-based point system:

Service Agreement Bond
- Selected candidates must serve HCL for a minimum of 3 years from joining
- A service agreement bond of ₹3,00,000 (Three Lakhs) must be executed at the time of joining
- If the employee leaves before completing 3 years, the full bond amount must be deposited
NOTE
The bond period for HCL (3 years) is shorter than many other PSUs like Coal India (5 years), making it relatively more flexible.
